As I sat here pondering the past year and thinking of the year to come (because that's what you're supposed to do on New Year's, right?), I was trying to remember all the books I read in 2008. I read some good ones and some not so good ones. So here is my list (at least as many as I could remember) in no particular order (I starred my favorites):
*These is My Words by Nancy Turner
Sara's Quilt by Nancy Turner
*The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Great and Terrible series (except I haven't read the last one yet) by Chris Stewart
Escape by Carolyn Jessop
Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury
The Message by Lance Richardson
Blindside by Michael Lewis
*A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
The Perfect Mile by Neal Bascomb
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
History of Love by Nicole Krauss
Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
Enna Burning by Shannon Hale
Does anyone have any suggestions for good books to read in 2009?

Hey Emma, I don't have any books to suggest, but I wanted to ask you if you and Ali could do the lunch for Jan? I asked Stacie about it and told her if she couldn't you guys had offered. She was wondering if you could do it. Her mom is getting a kidney transplant and Stacie might be the donor- she has a lot of tests to go through in Jan. Also, do you know what your having yet?
I haven't talked to you forever. Good thing you have a blog so I can know that you are prego. Freak, I thought we were better friends than that. J/K. I miss you at work, it sucks without ya.
I also read these is my words and I loved it. Now I am on Sarah's quilt. And then the Book Thief next. Thanks for your book list. Now, I know what to read for the year.
Glad you posted your list! I'm always looking for new reads.
As for my suggestions... My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, Midwives by Chris Bohjalian, It Had to be You (Gossip Girl) by Cecily von Ziegesar. Happy reading!
ps-you're pregnant?! Congrats!!
Thanks for lunch today! I just finished a great book. "A Change of Heart" by Jody Picolt
So I am such an idiot, I totally forgot about the lunch yesterday. I am really bummed about it, I wanted to see that huge belly I'm sure you are not sporting. I will be in touch, hope all is well
One more thing, you need to tell me how to add music and pictures to my blog. I would love to put pictures of the books that I am reading, but I am a total idiot when it comes to computers, let me know how you did it!
Where is a new post? I am wondering how you are doing. I will just have to give you a call. Has Ali had her baby and how far along are you?
