We participated in a classic Utah tradition by making the trek up to Lagoon last weekend, or as Eli likes to call it, "Magoons." We took the kids last year also, but before that I think the last time I was at lagoon was ninth grade lagoon day. And I admit, it was not quite as white-trash as I remember. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised. We had a great time. I won't make fun of any of you (Angie...) for having season passes. We spent most the day in kiddie-land, but my sister and I decided for old-times we needed to go on Colossus. It did me in. I was still feeling yucky the next day. The classic lagoon moment was when I was standing in line and noticed the couple behind me had matching hot pink shirts on. His shirt said, "I'm hers," and her shirt said, "he's mine." Now that's the lagoon I remember.

oh so fun. i love the classic picture of little kids in the tug boats. i'll never forget the time we all went together. you lloyds got to the park before us. when we got there lisa and rich came running, full speed, up to us lach-girls and said they had just been on the colossus ride and they couldn't wait to show it off! at that moment the thrill of the colossus was everything in the world to us!
I've never thought of Lagoon as white trash, what does that say about me? I haven't been for almost 10 years though... and now you make me want to go. Thanks for the great idea :)
Nice blog Emma! I particularly enjoy the hot pink shirts comment - I haven't been to Lagoon since MY 9th grade Lagoon Day. Thank goodness somethings just never change...Now, where do you think Ben and I could score some shirts like that?
